Noe Palacios is a product marketing manager of new development and ergonomic activities in seating for Steelcase Inc., the world's preeminent designer and manufacturer of products used to create high-performance work environments, including office furniture, furniture systems, interior architectural products, technology products and related products and services. The company is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Named to his current position in 1993, Noe directs ergonomic activities and product marketing for new seating products, including Leap, a new seating technology launched at NeoCon '99. Noe is responsible for ensuring that user needs are represented in Leap's design criteria, engineering and production.

As product marketing manager since 1993, Noe led marketing activities for the development of the Springboard family of chairs. He also guided the development of a seating platform and oversaw the life cycle management of three chair lines.


From 1992 to 1993, Noe was field sales and marketing manager for seating, responsible for developing marketing strategies in support of field sales activities and leading ergonomic workshops.

From 1987 to 1992, he was a manager in product development with responsibilities for training product development employees and acting as Liaison Officer to MIT.

Noe joined Steelcase in 1983 as manager of office environment research. He guided research activities, studied total office trends, directed ergonomic studies, established a formal ergonomics program and served as the industry's only representative to the American National Standards Institute/Human Factors Ergonomics Society (ANSI/HFES) 100 Committee.

Noe is currently a member of BEFES and a guest speaker at various international and national ergonomics conferences in Europe and the U.S.

From 1960 to 1976, Noe served in the U.S. Army in various locations, including Vietnam. He earned a bachelor's degree from University of Minnesota, a master's in business management from Central Michigan University and a master of education from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary.
