Bang Pa-In Summer Palace

This beautiful palace is some 30 kms.
south of Ayntthaya. It was built in the reign of King Rama V. The palace consists of many
Royal Buildings built in contrasting architectural styles. Thai, Chinese, Italian and
Victorian styles predominate.

Bank of Asia
The Bank of Asia was designed in the
mid-1980's by Sumet Jumsai in Bangkok, Thailand. A Ph.D. in Architecture at the Cambridge
University in the United States, Jumsai was commissioned by the head of The Bank of Asia
to create a building that would "reflect [upon] the new generation, their own, and
usher in a new era involving their new computerized banking service."

Wat Kukut was built in 1218 towards the
end of Mon culture in Thailand. It is one of the few surviving examples of Mon
architecture in Thailand. It has the form of a stepped pyramid rising in five tiers (see
picture 1, below). Each of the five layers is decorated with niches containing standing
Buddha images.
